Barely Behaving
Synopsis
Alora knows she has made mistakes. The worst one happens in a nightclub, when she lets her boyfriend pull her into a scheme targeting Tucker Dalton—a wealthy biotech heir still grieving the grandfather who raised him. What starts as one reckless night is supposed to end with a stolen wallet and a clean escape.
Instead, Alora meets Tucker. And nothing feels simple after that.
Tucker is nothing like the men Alora is used to—kind, thoughtful, and carrying wounds as deep as her own. Drawn together by undeniable chemistry, stolen lunches, playful dates, and a connection neither of them expected, Alora begins to believe she could become someone better in his orbit. But when the truth about that first night comes to light, Tucker’s trust shatters, and Alora is forced to face the consequences of every bad choice that brought her to him.
Determined to repay what was taken, Alora agrees to work off her debt inside Tucker’s powerful world—a world of cold boardrooms, ruthless suspicion, public scandal, and people who are certain she does not belong there. Yet the deeper Tucker looks, the more he sees the woman beneath her mistakes: resilient, tender, funny, and far stronger than anyone ever gave her credit for.
But wanting her could cost him everything.
As old betrayals surface and corporate enemies close ranks, Tucker must choose between protecting the empire built in his family’s name… or fighting for the woman who changed his life. And Alora must decide whether love is worth the risk of being truly seen.
Because sometimes the most dangerous thing isn’t falling for the wrong person. It’s trusting the right one to catch you.
