Charm and Chances

Synopsis

Cherry Murphy has always believed in timing—just not when it comes to David Hale.

Back in town for her brother’s wedding, Cherry expects a weekend of family, memories, and closure. What she doesn’t expect is David—the boy who once broke her heart—now a devastatingly charming ophthalmology resident with a reputation for leaving before things get real. One tangled dress, one heated dance, and one almost-kiss later, Cherry knows she’s in trouble all over again.

David never forgot Cherry. He just never believed he deserved her.

Haunted by a childhood shaped by fear, loss, and the looming possibility of inheriting the same blindness that destroyed his mother, David has spent his life keeping love at arm’s length. But Cherry’s return shatters every defense he’s built. She’s not just temptation—she’s everything he’s been too afraid to want: stability, family, forever.

When fate places them in the same building—and the same orbit—old sparks ignite into something deeper, hotter, and far more dangerous. As stolen kisses turn into late-night confessions and fragile trust begins to rebuild, David must decide if he’s brave enough to fight for a future he once believed was impossible.

Because loving Cherry means risking everything.

And this time, walking away might cost them both the one chance they’ll ever get.

A slow-burn, emotionally charged romance about second chances, healing old wounds, and choosing love even when fear feels safer.

Tropes: neighbors-to-lovers, Commitment-phobic hero learns to stay, brothers-best-friend
