The Inspiration Behind Still Us

Still Us is the second book in my Munne Sisters series, and in many ways, it’s the story I knew I needed to write the moment I finished book one. When Olivia walked away from Kane in that epilogue, it didn’t feel like an ending—it felt like a question. Why would someone leave the person they love most, especially when that love is returned so completely? That question stayed with me, and Still Us is my attempt to answer it with honesty and compassion.

Because the truth is, human nature isn’t always consistent. We can spend so long wanting something—believing it will fulfill us—only to feel uncertain when we finally have it. And sometimes, it’s only after we’ve let something go that we understand its value.

Olivia lives in that space of contradiction. Her journey isn’t about falling out of love—it’s about what happens when fear, self-doubt, and vulnerability collide with something real. And as much as love can endure, trust is far more fragile once it’s broken.

This story lives in the aftermath of a breakup that never fully let go. Olivia and Kane try to move forward separately, but their connection lingers in quiet, persistent ways. When they find their way back into each other’s orbit, nothing is simple. Their conversations carry history, their silences carry weight, and even the smallest moments are layered with everything left unsaid. It becomes a delicate balance between longing and self-protection—between wanting to try again and fearing what it might cost.

At its heart, Still Us is about growth. It’s about learning to stay when it’s easier to run, and learning to trust when it would be safer not to. Olivia and Kane are forced to confront not just each other, but themselves—their patterns, their fears, and the choices that shaped their past. What unfolds isn’t just a question of whether they still love each other, but whether they can become the kind of people who can hold onto that love in a healthier, more intentional way.

If that kind of story speaks to you—the messy, honest, sometimes uncomfortable side of love—you can find Still Us on Amazon.
