If you’ve been following the Unclaimed Hearts series, you probably already have an opinion about Finn Rourke.

He’s loud. He’s charming. He’s reckless. He’s the man with the joke, the beer, and the blue-eyed grin that gets him forgiven far too easily. Finn has always known how to work a room. He knows how to make people laugh, how to keep things light, and how to make sure no one looks too closely at what’s underneath.

But what happens when Finn finally meets a woman he can’t charm?

Lenora Hartley walks into Marlowe’s Hardware with an expansion plan, a sharp auburn bob, and absolutely no interest in being amused by him. She is practical, precise, and tired of being underestimated. Lenora has spent years becoming the woman who fixes the mess, handles the pressure, and never lets anyone see where it hurts.

So when Finn makes her authority the punchline in a room full of contractors she needs to lead, Lenora doesn’t crumble. She writes him off.

And honestly? She has every reason to.

One of the things I loved exploring in The Reckless Heartthrob is what happens after someone makes a mistake. Everyone messes up. Some of us more than others. But I’ve always believed the real story is in what comes next. Do you defend yourself? Do you double down? Or do you learn how to do better?

Finn has spent thirty-six years being the fun one, the careless bachelor, the man no one expects to take anything seriously. But earning Lenora’s trust forces him to become honest in a way he has avoided for most of his life. At first, he doesn’t even understand why her opinion matters so much.

Then he falls. And when Finn Rourke falls, he falls hard.

Lenora has her own journey, too. She isn’t “too serious” because she doesn’t know how to laugh. She’s serious because life has taught her that being useful is safer than being vulnerable. What she needs is not someone to loosen her up. She needs someone who makes her feel safe enough to let go.

That is where Finn surprises her.

As the Marlowe’s Hardware expansion keeps throwing them together, Finn learns that charm means very little without accountability. His jokes get kinder. His apologies get real. And Lenora begins to wonder if the man who once made her feel small might become the one who finally makes her feel chosen.

The Reckless Heartthrob is a steamy contemporary romance about a charming but careless hero, a guarded operations consultant heroine, workplace tension, found-family friendships, hot swimming-pool chemistry, emotional accountability, domestic softness, and the kind of love that asks both people to become braver.

And because this is Finn Rourke we’re talking about, there are more than a few laughs along the way.

If Finn and Lenora’s story sounds like your kind of romance, you can find The Reckless Heartthrob on Amazon.
