Highly Inappropriate

Good morning,

I’m so excited to finally introduce you to the Cedar Spurs Ranch series.

Cedar Spurs is the kind of place where the horses are usually better behaved than the people, the cowboys have questionable ideas about what counts as “helping,” and falling in love has a way of happening when nobody is looking for it.

Set beneath the wide Texas sky, this series follows a group of interconnected couples whose lives keep crossing at Cedar Spurs Ranch. There are ridiculous pranks, old history, unexpected mysteries, second chances, forced proximity, found family, and plenty of moments where two people insist they absolutely do not have feelings for each other while everyone around them quietly knows better.

Each book has its own couple and its own story, but the heart of the series stays the same: laughter, longing, emotional honesty, strong chemistry, and people discovering that sometimes the person who challenges you the most is also the person who sees you most clearly.

The Cedar Spurs Ranch books are spicy contemporary romantic comedies with open-door intimacy. The chemistry is intense, the attraction is impossible to ignore, and when these couples finally stop fighting what they want, the bedroom door stays very much open.

And it all begins with Book One: Highly Inappropriate.

Marissa Lane Prescott comes to Cedar Spurs with what she thinks is a simple summer plan.

Help out at her aunt and uncle’s dude ranch.

Avoid making any major decisions about her future.

And, if at all possible, avoid murdering Nolan Hayes Maddox.

Nolan has apparently decided that last part is negotiable.

He has spent years perfecting the art of getting under Marissa’s skin, and when one harmless prank turns into retaliation, the two of them somehow end up in an escalating war neither is willing to lose.

There are hidden belongings.

Embarrassing signs.

Public humiliation.

Very creative revenge.

And far too many moments when being furious with each other starts to feel suspiciously like foreplay.

The problem is that Marissa and Nolan know each other better than either of them wants to admit.

They notice things.

They remember things.

They know exactly which buttons to push—and eventually discover there are a few other ways to get a reaction out of each other too.

Everyone else at Cedar Spurs seems to understand what is happening long before they do.

But jokes are easy.

Honesty is harder.

As the summer goes on, the line between rivalry and desire becomes harder to see. A few almost-moments, one prank that crosses the wrong line, and a growing collection of truths neither of them can joke away force Marissa and Nolan to confront what has been hiding underneath years of teasing, arguments, and attraction.

And once they finally stop pretending?

Things get very inappropriate.

But beneath all the heat is something neither of them expected: trust, vulnerability, and the possibility that this might be more than a summer fling or a rivalry that finally got out of control.

Marissa came to Cedar Spurs believing she was spending one last summer there before her real life finally began.

She never expected to wonder whether the life she was looking for might have been waiting for her all along.

Highly Inappropriate is a fast-paced, laugh-out-loud, enemies-to-lovers spicy romantic comedy about prank wars, forced proximity, terrible timing, emotional vulnerability, found family, explosive chemistry, and falling hard for the one person who knows exactly how to drive you crazy.

This is an open-door romance, so readers can expect plenty of banter, sexual tension, kissing, emotional intimacy, and explicit on-page spice alongside the romance and humor.

I had so much fun writing Marissa and Nolan because underneath all the ridiculousness, teasing, and heat, their story is really about two people who have spent years using humor and irritation to avoid admitting how deeply they affect each other.

They know how to make each other furious.

They know how to make each other laugh.

And, eventually, they have to figure out what happens when neither one of them wants to walk away.

If you enjoy romances that make you laugh, characters who feel messy and human, enemies-to-lovers chemistry, cowboys, strong heroines, open-door spice, and love stories where the emotional payoff matters just as much as the physical one, I hope you’ll give Highly Inappropriate a try.

It’s available now on Amazon, and I would love to welcome you to Cedar Spurs Ranch.
