The Rebel and the Tower

Updated: Aug 16
For those of you who have been following my blog and reading the Once Upon a Temptation series, I’m so excited to introduce book five: The Rebel and the Tower.
This story follows Evelyn, the younger sister of Dominic from book two. I’ve loved getting the chance to return to this family and give Evelyn a story—and a happily ever after—of her own.
As the series title suggests, each book is loosely inspired by a fairy tale. This time, the inspiration is Rapunzel, although Evelyn’s story is very much her own. She has extraordinarily long hair, works high above Dallas in a tower, and finds herself trapped in an elevator with a man who is most decidedly not a prince.
He may be something better.
He is honest. Complicated. Unexpected. And possibly her perfect match—although it takes both of them some time, and more than a few mistakes, to discover that.
Evelyn Wolfe has spent years proving she is more than her family’s scandal—and more than the overprotected younger sister of Dallas’s most intimidating attorney. At twenty-six, she manages communications for a historic-preservation foundation high above the city, surrounded by glass walls, tradition, and the waist-length hair everyone remembers.
Then the elevator stops.
Gabriel Tower is a tattooed corporate rogue in an immaculate suit, the founder of an adaptive-reuse firm, and the last man Evelyn wants to be trapped beside for two hours.
His teasing turns into banter.
The banter becomes something more honest.
And when the elevator doors finally open, Evelyn believes she has revealed her most vulnerable self to a stranger.
She was wrong.
Gabriel is the controversial developer challenging her foundation, and pieces of their private conversation soon appear in his public proposal. Convinced he used her grief to gain an advantage, Evelyn cuts her hair and prepares to fight him.
But Gabriel’s mistake may not be the betrayal she believes it is—and the rogue threatening her tower may be the one man willing to let her design her own future.
The Rebel and the Tower is a fast-paced, high-heat contemporary fairy-tale romance featuring enemies to lovers, forced proximity, a tattooed architect hero, a sharp-witted heroine, workplace rivalry, unconventional dates, hidden vulnerability, family appearances, found courage, and a hard-won happily ever after.
At its heart, this is a story about being seen for who you truly are, finding the courage to let go of the identity others have created for you, and choosing a future that belongs entirely to you.
I hope readers will fall in love with Evelyn and Gabriel as much as I did while writing them.
If you enjoy stories about strong women, imperfect but honest heroes, complicated families, emotional tension, and characters who choose their own happily ever afters, I hope you’ll check out The Rebel and the Tower on Amazon.
