I have always had a deep respect for paramedics, firefighters, emergency nurses, and everyone who steps into crisis while the rest of us are trying to survive it. Their work matters in the most profound way. They save lives. They bring calm into chaos. They carry people through some of the hardest moments they will ever face.

But one thing I wanted to explore in Unexpectedly Yours is that heroes are still human.

They are people with tender places, old wounds, complicated hearts, and needs they do not always know how to name. They can be strong and still tired. Brave and still afraid. Capable of saving someone else while quietly wondering who might be willing to save them.

If you have been following my Unexpected Love series, you already know this is book two. And if you read Unexpected Magic, then you know Mason Dobbs. From the moment he appeared on the page, I knew he deserved his own happy ending. I just did not know, at first, what that ending would look like.

It took me a while to find the right story for him. The right woman. The right kind of love.

Then Vienna Walsh walked in.

Vienna has built her life on control. As an emergency department nurse, she is precise, composed, and almost impossible to shake. At home, she is the steady hand holding her fragile family together. Her world has very little room for chaos, weakness, or wanting something she cannot afford to keep.

Especially not Mason Dobbs.

Mason is everything Vienna distrusts. He is charming, reckless, too quick with a smile, and far too comfortable turning crisis into conversation. As a paramedic, he gets under her skin every time he rolls through the ambulance bay. Worse, he keeps proving there is more beneath the grin than she wants to see.

He notices the pain she hides. She sees the heart he pretends not to have. And when one life-or-death call forces them to move as one, the tension between them becomes impossible to ignore.

What begins as irritation sharpens into attraction. Attraction becomes need. And need becomes the one risk neither of them knows how to take.

But Vienna has spent a lifetime believing love is just another thing that leaves. Mason has spent his life making sure no one expects him to stay. If they want something real, they will have to face the wounds that taught them to run, the responsibilities that keep them guarded, and the terrifying possibility that being chosen might be worth the fall.

Steamy, emotional, and tenderly intense, Unexpectedly Yours is an adult contemporary romance about trust, healing, found courage, and the kind of love that does not just burn hot. It stays.

If this story speaks to you, you can find Unexpectedly Yours on Amazon.
